Kriva Palanka, as a town, is blessed with rich natural resources, a healthy environment, and inhabitants who possess good physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The "Rurban Rehabilitation" envisions revitalizing the city by establishing a network of activities that breathe new life into it, aiming for both the well-being of its residents and balanced tourism.
Kriva Palanka becomes an active town where industry and tourism coexist in symbiosis with its surroundings, reminding everyone of the unbreakable bond between humanity and its untamed nature.
The new programmatic contents once again accentuate and rekindle the long-forgotten value of architecture within the city. They rekindle cultural vibrancy in every neighborhood center, activating the broader environs with the aim of promoting both physical and spiritual upliftment of individuals. The balanced spatial revitalization of the city not only benefits tourism but also redirects it.
It is now distributed across all active zones, moving away from its former concentration around the Monastery as the central tourist attraction. The plethora of new programs, appealing to tourists, simultaneously leverage the potential of Kriva Palanka's own residents, ranging from those involved in food production, the educational sector, cultural and healthcare workers, to the budding academic community, eager to showcase their contributions for the city's betterment.
Sustainability, as a paramount characteristic in the city's development strategy, resonates throughout Kriva Palanka. As the years unfold, the city continues to embrace sustainability as a central tenet, whereby its evolution is shaped by an amalgamation of its rich heritage and contemporary aspirations.
GOALS TARGET GROUP:
Artist
architects
individuals with interest in cultural events.
WHAT?
activation of a neighborhood center
revitalization of existing paths
creation of a workspace in nature
HOW?
diverse content for socialization
transformation of the "toranichka building" into a cultural center
interactive cultural pathway
new art therapy center with accommodation capacity
WHY?
lack of spaces for socialization
attractive and unexploited location
sustaining various cultural events
All of the before mentioned goals are realized through the three interventions we envisage in the northeast quadrant of the city, through the following three interventions.

INTERVENTION 1 - TRANSFORMATION OF ABANDONED FACILITY INTO A CULTURAL CENTER: With this intervention, we activate the neighborhood center of "Osichka Maala." Given the excellent lighting conditions in this existing space, it offers the opportunity to house a library, a reading room, a restaurant, and a gallery space, where artworks from the artistic colonies that characterize the city can be exhibited. INTERVENTION 2 - ARTISTIC STUDIO WITH ACCOMMODATION CAPACITY: With this intervention, we engage with the neighborhood center in "Osichka Maala," utilizing the abundant resources of these spaces to foster the development of art therapy. This includes the potential for working in nature, serving as an inspirational motif for the artists who constitute our primary target group.
INTERVENTION 2 - THE ARTISTIC PATHWAY:  A connection between the first two interventions that also serves a utilitarian purpose, facilitating the circulation of resources acquired and utilized for the purpose of sustaining the proposed spaces.
